Geneva Court Docket Searches
Geneva has no separate court portal. The Odyssey inventory lists no Geneva town court, so the county system is the destination. For a filed case, open Indiana Courts Case Search, known as MyCase. Then pick the Adams court handling the matter. Traffic, ordinance, misdemeanor, small claims, and many civil cases belong to Adams Superior Court. Felonies, probate, and family law go to Adams Circuit Court. That court's other assigned work goes there instead.
- Identify whether the source is a town ordinance, citation, notice, or county case number.
- Choose the MyCase Case tab for a citation or case number, or Name when the number is unknown.
- Narrow Court to Adams Superior or Adams Circuit and add status or filing dates.
- Open the matching CCS and verify the court, case type, filing date, status, and settings.
- Check the Trial Court Calendar for a near-term public hearing, if needed.
- Contact the Adams County Clerk for an official copy, current balance, or an item not online.
Don't limit the search to the town name. Odyssey stamps cases with the Adams court identifier, never "Geneva," in the court field. A citation number works better. So does a party name paired with an exact filing date.
No Geneva Town Court Identifier
Missing from the inventory does not mean Geneva lacks ordinance enforcement. It means routing, nothing more. Town officials, the police or marshal, and the ordinance repository all operate at the municipal level. Once something is filed as a court case, the county court and the Adams County Clerk hold the CCS and the official file.
Quick routing rule: Use Geneva sources to read the town rule; use Adams court sources to find a filed case, hearing, payment, or official court record.
This is how the generic idea of a "Geneva Municipal Court" trips people up. The town has no court identifier. Indiana's current local inventory lists Adams Circuit Court as 01C01 and Adams Superior Court as 01D01 instead.
Inside Geneva Court Record Routing
Geneva's official town site lists municipal contacts and services, not a judicial docket. The Town of Geneva home page shows what the town itself publishes.

That page helps separate Town Hall from the county judicial system. Utility payments, news, and meeting material there never update an Adams Superior Court CCS.
Inside the Geneva Court System
Geneva has no separate court of record. A local traffic or ordinance matter that reaches a courtroom goes to Adams Superior Court. Other Geneva-connected cases split between Superior and Circuit under Indiana law and Adams local allocation. The Adams County Clerk backs both courts. The Clerk serves as the channel for official records, copies, certifications, and court finances. Superior Court sits at 122 S. 3rd Street in Decatur. It lists 260-724-5347. The Clerk's records counter is at 112 S. 2nd Street, Room A, with the number 260-724-5309. Those separate buildings matter. When a Geneva resident needs the courtroom rather than the record counter, the address makes the difference.
Geneva Court Dates Through Adams
The statewide Trial Court Calendar covers participating public Adams hearings from seven days back through four weeks ahead. Pick Adams County first. Then choose Adams Circuit or Adams Superior and set the date. A result can show the case number, court, date, time, event, judicial officer, and public case caption.
| County | Choose Adams, not Geneva |
|---|---|
| Court | Adams Superior or Adams Circuit as shown by the case |
| Date and time | The listed setting within the calendar's limited window |
| Event | Initial hearing, pretrial, trial, review, sentencing, or another setting |
| Case link | Use the uniform number to verify the CCS in MyCase |
That public calendar is optional and narrower than the CCS. A hearing can appear in MyCase yet not on the calendar. If so, trust the official notice. Then confirm with the court.
Geneva Meetings Are Not Court Dates
Town meetings and court hearings are two different systems. A Geneva council or board date on the town website concerns municipal government. A judicial setting shows up in an Adams court notice, a CCS, or a participating Trial Court Calendar result. Matching dates or overlapping subject matter never merge the two records. When the event type is unclear, check which office issued it. A town agenda names a municipal body and place. A court notice identifies Adams Circuit or Superior. It also lists a uniform case number and a judicial setting. Calling Town Hall cannot replace confirmation with the court that set the hearing.
Geneva Traffic Ticket Lookups
A ticket written in connection with Geneva still files in Adams Superior Court. Search Indiana traffic ePayment by UTT number. You can also search by driver's-license number, or by name and date of birth. MyCase gives the broader CCS view. If nothing comes back or online payment is unavailable, call the Adams traffic line at 260-724-5312. The Clerk line at 260-724-5300 extension 2110 also works. The live ePayment result may show ticket date, court, case number, and offense. Balance, fees, copy controls, and a plea choice may appear too. Not every ticket is eligible online, though. Payment counts as an admission or no-contest plea with the effect of a judgment. Anyone contesting a citation should follow the notice instead of paying. County-wide traffic routes are covered in the Adams County traffic court resource.
Geneva Ordinances and Court Records
The official Geneva ordinance repository publishes local ordinance material and the 2025 code. This page is a starting point for the rule behind a town citation.

The repository proves no case was filed. It cannot show current status either. After reading the local provision, turn to MyCase or the Adams County Clerk for the judicial record.
| Record | Custodian or channel |
|---|---|
| Geneva ordinance text | Town ordinance repository and official code |
| Filed ordinance or traffic CCS | Adams Superior Court through MyCase or Clerk |
| Near-term public hearing | Trial Court Calendar and court confirmation |
| Certified court paper | Adams County Clerk |
Geneva Fines and Court Costs
Geneva's 2025 traffic schedule lets an eligible driver pay the fine plus court costs and fees. Payment goes to the Adams County Clerk. It must arrive before the appearance date. Read the lines with care. The fine, the court cost, and the payment charge are separate items. The ordinance gives the local rule. The Clerk holds the live balance and can tell you whether the citation can be resolved without appearing.
Never pay a court cost through a Geneva utility-payment link. A town payment receipt does not close a filed court case. For an eligible citation, use the Adams Clerk or Indiana ePayment route. Keep the receipt. If the citation is disputed or an appearance is required, follow the court notice.
How Geneva Cases Reach the County
Geneva sits at the southern tip of Adams County. Its small size and distance from Decatur do not give it a court of its own. Every Geneva case lands in one of the county's two courts of record, and any appeal moves up through Indiana's regular appellate ladder.
Docket flow: Geneva ordinance or citation › Adams Superior Court filing › Adams County Clerk CCS and record › Indiana appellate court if appealed
A Geneva civil, criminal, probate, or family case goes to Circuit or Superior depending on its type and how the county splits the work. The case number prefix tells you which. Read 01C01 as Circuit, and 01D01 as Superior. The Adams County court docket overview walks through that county layer in more detail.
Geneva's Modern CCS Timeline
Geneva's historic-district charm and deep town history make pleasant reading. None of it means old court books sit online. Adams Circuit and Adams Superior both joined Odyssey on August 19, 2019. That system powers the modern CCS, plus calendars, payment history, and case images through MyCase.
Records from before the switch can look thin. Some show converted events. Some have no image at all. When a Geneva docket search crosses that 2019 line, step away from MyCase and call the Clerk instead. Give the office the names. Add a rough date, the likely court, and any old case or agency reference. Clerk staff can locate the official file and explain the copy options, so a missing image never means a missing record.
Who Can See Geneva Court Records
Indiana's Access to Court Records Rule 4 starts from a baseline of public access. That access is limited. Limits come from Rule 5, statute, redaction, and court orders. A Geneva docket can sit in the CCS. It may be open to the public. Even so, certain documents may still be blocked from remote view. Juvenile, mental-health, sealed, expunged, and protection-order files carry extra limits. The same goes for victim, witness, medical, and sensitive-identifier material.
Use precise terms: A record may be public but not online, closed but not sealed, or visible only in redacted form.
Need a plain copy of a Adams County court record? Shelly M. Brite's Clerk's Office takes requests several ways. Use the email form, mail, phone, or the counter. Copies run $1 per page, and certification adds $3 per document. A verified Rule 9 request works differently. It is a judicial process for material normally excluded. Such requests are allowed only in supported circumstances. That is not a routine copy order through the clerk.
Geneva by the Census Count
Geneva counted 1,257 residents in the official April 1, 2020 Census TIGERweb table. That placed it third among Adams County's four incorporated places. The number describes the town itself, not its litigants or cases, so no one should gauge Geneva court activity from population alone.
The lesson here is institutional, not statistical. Geneva runs its own municipal records and services. But filed judicial records sit with two Adams courts and one elected Clerk, which is why a Geneva court docket search leans on county and state interfaces instead.
